Data dictionary

Field definitions supplied by the publishing agency in CKAN.

Column	Type	Label	Description
PROGRAM_TYPE	text	Program	Whether the well is part of the Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP), Alternative to GSP (ALT), or Adjudicated Area (ADJ) section of the MNM.
STN_ID	numeric	Station ID	Sequential number assigned to each record.
SITE_CODE	text	Site Code	Location based 18 character alphanumeric code assigned to each well. Unique identifier (key).
WELL_NAME	text	Local Well Name	Local well identification / local well name, number, or code.
BASIN_NAME	text	Basin Subbasin Name	Basin or subbasin name the well is located within, as defined by the Department of Water Resources.
GSP_ALT_BASIN_NAME	text	—	—
AGENCY	text	Agency Name	The name of the agency or adjudicated area that the well is associated with.
GSP_NAME	text	GSP Name	If applicable, the GSP Local ID the well is associated with. This field is blank for single GSP Basins, please reference the "Basin Subbasin Name" field to determine the associated GSP.
MONITORING_NETWORK_TYPE	text	Monitoring Network Type	Whether the well is a representative monitoring well or not, as defined by §354.36.
SUSTAINABILITY_INDICATORS	text	Sustainability Indicator(s)	The sustainability indicator(s) monitored at the well.
PRINCIPAL_AQUIFER	text	Principal Aquifer Name	If applicable, the principal aquifer the well is collecting measurements from.
SWN	text	State Well Number	DWR State Well Number
WCR_NO	text	WCR Number	DWR Well Completion Report Number (OSWCR Legacy Log Number).
LATITUDE	numeric	Latitude	Latitude in decimal degrees, using NAD83.
LONGITUDE	numeric	Longitude	Longitude in decimal degrees, using NAD83.
WELL_USE	text	Well Use Type	Description of well use (Domestic, Irrigation, Monitoring, etc…).
WELL_TYPE	text	Well Completion Type	Description of the well completion type (i.e. single well or part of a nested/multi-completion well).
WELL_DEPTH	numeric	Well Depth (feet bgs)	A well's total casing depth or open borehole depth in feet below ground surface.
TOP_PRF	numeric	Top Perforation (feet bgs)	Depth to the top of the shallowest perforation/screen interval or open borehole depth, in feet, below ground surface.
BOT_PRF	numeric	Bottom Perforation (feet bgs)	Depth to the bottom of the deepest perforation/screen interval or open borehole depth, in feet, below ground surface.
LAST_GSE	numeric	Ground Surface Elevation	Ground surface elevation, in feet, using NAVD88.
LAST_RPE	numeric	Reference Point Elevation	Reference point elevation, in feet, using NAVD88.
SMC_START_DATE	timestamp	Sustainable Management Criteria Start Date	The date, selected by the GSA, to determine the years associated with a well’s interim milestones, measurable objective, and minimum threshold. Generally, the GSP’s adoption date or submitted date.
SMC_MT	numeric	Minimum Threshold	The well's established minimum threshold, in feet, using NAVD88.
SMC_IM_5_YR	numeric	5-Year Interim Milestone	The well's established 5-year interim milestone, in feet, using NAVD88.
SMC_IM_10_YR	numeric	10-Year Interim Milestone	The well's established 10-year interim milestone, in feet, using NAVD88.
SMC_IM_15_YR	numeric	15-Year Interim Milestone	The well's established 15-year interim milestone, in feet, using NAVD88.
SMC_MO	numeric	Measurable Objective	The well's established measurable objecive, in feet, using NAVD88.
COMMENTS	text	Sustainable Management Criteria Comments	Comments related to a well's sustainable management criteria, provided by the GSA.
FIRST_MSMT_DATE	timestamp	First Groundwater Level Measurement Date (PST)	Date/Time (in PST) the first groundwater level measurement was collected from the well.
LAST_MSMT_DATE	timestamp	Last Groundwater Level Measurement Date (PST)	Date/Time (in PST) the last groundwater level measurement was collected from the well.
LAST_NM_CODE	text	Last No Measurement Code	The no measurement code associated with the last no measurement submitted.
MSMT_COUNT	numeric	Total Measurements	The total number of measurements associated with the well.
LAST_NM_DATE	timestamp	Last No Measurement Date	The date of the last measurement when a no measurement code was entered.
